Welcome to St Brigid's Primary School

Easter Liturgy 2010

On Thursday 1 April our students protrayed the story of Holy Week through drama, movement and song.

Below is a short version of our Liturgy.

           Palm Sunday

Jesus is going to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. His friends find a donkey for him to ride on.  When people see him coming the begin to shout "Hosanna! Hosanna!"
Holy Thursday

Jesus and his friends get together for the Passover meal.  When they arrive, Jesus washes their feet - a job usually done by a servant.
After supper, Jesus and his disciples go to the garden of Gethsemane to pray.
Good Friday

He is arrested and taken to Pontius Pilate.  He is trialled by the chief priests and condemned to death.

Jesus dies on the cross.

Holy Saturday

Joseph and three women wrap Jesus' body in linen that is covered with oils and perfumes. They lay Him in a tomb.
Easter Sunday

Early on Sunday morning, Mary goes to the tomb and notices that the stone has rolled away.  Simon Peter and another disciple look inside the tomb.

"He is risen!"
