Personnel Management Policy
Rationale
The Board of Trustees of St Brigid's School as a good employer defined in the State Sector Act 1988 wishes to promote high levels of staff performance and to ensure that competent and appropriately qualified personnel are employed.
Financial Management Policy
Rationale
According to NAG 4 the Board of Trustees is required to allocate funds to reflect the school's charter priorities; to monitor and control school expenditure. It is responsible under the Public Finance Act to operate its fiscal activities in a prescribed manner.
Property Management Policy
Rationale
According to NAG 4 the Board of Trustees is required to comply with current asset management agreements and to implement programmes of maintenance to ensure that the school's buildings and facilities provide a safe, healthy learning environment for students. According to NAG 5 the Board must provide a safe physical environment for students and employees.
Health and Safety Policy
St Brigid's School will take all practicable steps to ensure the safety of staff, students, visitors and contractors by complying with relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
Code of Conduct Policy
Rationale
The goal is to encourage children to behave in ways that are respectful of themselves, others, God and the environment. We want to ensure a fair and consistent approach that will promote a safe, orderly and positive class and school environment for effective teaching, learning and social interaction.
Legal Requirements Policy
Rationale
The Board of Trustees must ensure that St Brigid's complies with all legal requirements placed on the School. Many of these requirements are addressed in specific policies and procedures adopted by the Board. However some are not, and the Board needs to be assured that these additional requirements are being complied with.
